Hares & Hounds Trail Run - Woodford, Sun 11 Jan 2009

Start your 2009 trail running season with a pleasant drive in the country, a run through the forest, a swim in the pool and a post race BBQ, brought to you by TRAQ and Brisbane’s specialist running store Active Stride.

The 3nd Annual Hares & Hounds Trail Run offers yet another new choice in 2009. Come along for the 5km or 10km fun run, or form a team of two or four hounds and try to chase down the solo runners (hares) on a 55km adventure to Beerburrum and back. All courses will be clearly marked with dolomite arrows and white flagging tape. Checkpoints will have water, electrolyte drinks and sweets for all runners (and fruit and coke for hares). The course map is now finalised (but it can always change on the day): 2009 Hares & Hounds Map.

Venue:Woodford Pool, Peterson Rd, Woodford.

If you’re coming from Caboolture, take the D’Aguilar Highway past Wamuran and D’Aguilar to Woodford. Turn right into Peterson Rd (at Woodford School) and follow it for less than 1km to pool. Shower/toilet facilities are available.

Start time

3:30 am Hares (55km solo)

4:30 am Hounds (55km relay)

7:00 am Fun Runs (5km and 10km)

The early start time for Hares makes it a great opportunity to test out your headlamp before the Glasshouse 50 Mile in May. Don’t like early starts? Sleep in, and join us for one of the Fun Runs instead. Want to join a relay team, but can’t convince your friends? Talk to Robson at Active Stride about joining a shop team, or check out the forums on CoolRunning Australia.
