The Wild Horse Mountain run is essentially a night training event. There are no awards and no entry forms, but there is a limit of about 50 entrants. There will be courses of 10, 20 and 30km offered.

1. SIGN ON is at Wild Horse Mt car park on eastern side of Bruce Highway near Johnston Rd between 6.00 and 6.50pm. Toilets are available at the MOBIL Service Station and the service station and fast food section are open 24 hours.

2. STARTS  ( about 15-20 at each time ) will be at Wild Horse Mt car park
      ( 1km from service station ) at 6.15,6.45, 7.15pm.

3. COURSE  MARKINGS will be mainly dolomite arrows on the ground and white flagging tape in trees. Some glow sticks might be used in difficult areas. A torch or head lamp is essential.

4. WATER will be available at one checkpoint only and maybe some sweets. You need to be prepared to cover around 10k without water so water bottle or hydration pack is essential.

5. COURSE : (map available at start but useless in dark). Course will depend on weather.
10km    9 – A -  9 -  10 – D – 9 
20km    9 – A – 9 – 10 – C – B – 10 – D – 9
30km    9 – A – 9 – 10 – D – E – B - 10 – C –  B – 10 - D – 9

Costs are- free for TRAQ members – non members $5.
 
Essentially there may be three different loops of around 10k. A cut off time will be applied to those in the 30k to ensure all finish at a reasonable time ( about 10pm )

NB Those wishing to take part should contact Ian Javes at least 48 hours prior as there is a limit of around 50. If there is inclement weather making the marking of the course too difficult the event will be cancelled or postponed.
