In2Adventure has included a trail run as part of their Weekend Dirt fest, which also offers MTB action and an off-road triathlon. The 6km Trail Run is a short, fun off road race on a 3km circuit, with the course passing through, and finishing at Race HQ. They promise “a dirty afternoon of fun in the outdoors for everyone” on open trails, single track and hills.
The course follows the circumference of Slickers Lake, with the 3km loop veering away from the lake and onto a picturesque single track to take in a challenging hill up onto the ridge above the dam, before descending back down to the dam and crossing the dam wall back to HQ & the Finish. Location: Slickers, Denham Rd, Kurwongbah

Who says you can’t run in the Brisbane summer? With a 3.30am (!) start for the 53km ultra-run, a cool night and beautiful full moon, 100 keen runners turned up to explore the Glasshouse Mountains forest by night and day. Perhaps it was the thought of finishing at the Woodford swimming pool which kept some going, or the prospect of being caught by too many chasing “hares” from the fresher relay teams. 25 entered and all completed the ultra, while others formed chasing teams of two, three or four and enjoyed the challenge of trying to catch the “hares” or ultra runners through the early-morning dark. The shorter 10km fun run was also a popular option with 50 entrants. Results here, Coolrunning forum here, and some pics of the day below.
