TRAQ has been talking to the Fraser Coast Runners and Kingfisher Lodge about reviving a run on the trails of Fraser Island. We have a course lined up for a full marathon in August 2008 - if you’d like to be one of the first to check it out, email us at Info@runtrails.org. This will require a weekend running 42km of forested trails, swimming in freshwater lakes, lift provided back to Kingfisher Lodge at night - its a tough job but someone’s got to do it! Read more

Run The Whitsunday Great Walk - Entries are now open, don’t leave it to the last minute - this run sold out its first running in 2006, with good reason. The Whitsunday Great Walk is normally open only as a multi-day walk, but on September 23 you can run this unique 28km trail carved into the lush rainforest of Conway State Forest. Read more

We were blessed with a fine warm winters day and 136 runners entered across the 7, 21 and 33km courses. The middle 21km course was the most popular choice, and may also have surprised a few. Described on the poster as scenic, it was indeed a great view from the hills at the far end of the lake - showing just how far back it was to the dam and the race start!
